Academic Planning

Digital, Organization

Academic Planning is an organizational tool designed for new, current, and recurring students, as well as advisors, at the University of Baltimore. The updated version of the of this sheet was enhanced in accessibility to students who prefer either print or digital copies . The form was developed for M.A. and M.F.A Integrated Design students as part of Independent Study course at the University of  Baltimore in Spring 2023.
The printed version of the plan sheet provides enough space between each line, allowing users to easily input the necessary information required. The primary difference between the previous version and the updated one is the functionality: especially for the students and advisor who use the form digitally. The digital version, there are slightly difference between the M.A. and M.F.A students plan sheet.
M.A. students can select the semester and year they have completed a course using the dropdown menu. At the bottom, they can indicate which writing course they have completed by checking the appropriate box and can list an electives that they have taken.
As for the M.F.A students, the sheet includes more written components. The written components allow them to enter detailed information, such as credits and semesters, as it may vary by student. At the bottom of their form, there are three checkboxes that must be marked off as they complete their degree requirements.
These updates are to simplify the process of sending the form back and forth for revisions, allowing it to become easier to make necessary changes without complications. The revised design also enhances the clarity and visual appeal of the form for both students and advisors.
